About us

CMAS Belgium is the official representative of CMAS (Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques) in Belgium. As a national federation, we unite the three recognized leagues — NELOS (Flanders), Lifras (Brussels and Wallonia) and Duiken.Vlaanderen (Flanders).

As a non-profit association, our mission is to support, organize, and promote underwater sports in all their forms. Whether it’s recreational scuba diving, freediving, competitive disciplines like underwater hockey or finswimming, or artistic expressions such as underwater photography and video — CMAS Belgium represents the interests of the Belgian underwater community both nationally and internationally. 
 
We represent Belgium within the International CMAS organisation, ensure the recognition of certifications, support participation in international competitions, and uphold high standards in safety, training, and sports ethics.
